7 months agoI had today’s lunch special which was two pork with rice and peas and sweet plantains. I tell you this is the dish that you will always want to have and going back to this restaurant Fire Pot. Well done well done well done excellent test I was surprised that this meal was like this is my first time having this meal at this restaurant very good indeed. My daughter ordered the fried red snapper excavate it is very tasty not over spicy well done . She will be going back in a few days to re-order this meal as we are not around town right now but the best meal you can always count on Fire Pot restaurant Spring Valley New York very good food. 10 months agoI went here with a friend. I had the curry goat and it had the right flavor I have grown used to. For a small place they had very good food that was reasonably priced.

a year agoThey quite literally stole from me. I catered oxtails. They took half the payment and when the day came for the catering. They were closed for a week…. I’m literally going to my event right now empty handed. No communication no nothing

a year agoI ordered food today, I don't like how they cut up the meat like they are serving an animal I’m disappointed, I asked for breast or thigh they gave me a leg and chopped up the rest of the meat, When I called to talk about my food they have an attitude because I'm talking about my food. Plus the rice is hard 😒😒😒

Soup is never made the same way. 3 times in a row we ordered soup and first time got amazing soup with dumplings then second time we got some broth with chicken feet then the last time we got some kind of beans and noodles and was charged an extra fee. That was to replace porridge! We specifically put in the instructions, do not replace, refund! The oxtail has hardly any meat and a ton of rice. Curry is basic. Not good at all..will not return.

5 years agoI regularly eat here but lately the quality of the food and the portions haven't been as plenty and tasty as usual. I ordered a large oxtail, unfortunately the meat wasn't enough to share for two. Basically in the large size you get more rice, that's pretty much it. The meat had a sweet flavor definitely not your traditional Jamaican oxtail dish. The oxtail carried little to no meat and I had to tug to get it off. Normally this is one of my favorites from the firepot but lately the quality hasn't been the same

5 years agoThis place is kind of hidden in the back but it was very well worth it once I got ahold of the food. Infinitely better than your typical Jamaican spot. This place actually gives you a solid portion of food, and not just a bunch of rice to make it appear like there is a lot of food. I wish there guys were closer to me because I'd eat there everyday!

Edited 9 months agoGreat tasting Jamaican food. Better than local competitors. Oxtails and Stewed Chicken were both fresh, tender, and flavorful. Vegetables were cooked perfectly. This restaurant is a hidden gem behind other stores with entry from a short alleyway. The place is nothing to look at but we enjoyed the food and look forward to going back.
